Our Annual Gala Fundraiser
Every year we celebrate local talent with the MAMAs, recognizing the musicians, students, teachers, and fans that make Madison such a great place for music. We have a Finalist Announcement Party to announce the finalists in each category, and the yearly voting cycle culminates in a star-studded, music-filled awards show and ceremony that highlights our very best.

Music Fans
You can register yourself or be registered by someone else as Local Music Fan of the Year. Be recognized for your dedication to Madison music.
If you’re not a performer, behind-the-scenes supporter, or super-fan, you’ll sign up as a “Fan” so you can register and vote for your favorites. Because without your nominations and votes, there is no awards show!
Special Awards
In addition to the performer, instrumentalist, and support awards we give at the MAMAs, we also present awards for Student of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and a Lifetime Achievement Award. These awards are determined by staff and board members based on nominations, recommendations, and nominees’ contributions to Madison music. Breakthrough Artists of the Year compete before a panel of judges. To be in the Hall of Fame, the inductee must have won at least five MAMAs in their category.

Q: I’m a finalist. Do I need to buy a ticket to the awards show?
A: Yes. As a charitable organization, we rely on ticket sales to help fund our mission.
Q: I’m a winner. When can I get my trophy and see the photos?
A: We’ll let you know when it’s time to order your trophy (we’ll email you at the email address you were registered with). Photos take a few weeks and we’ll email you when they’re ready to view.
