Robert J. is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and recording artist who has been a prominent figure in the Wisconsin music scene for decades. Known for his unique blend of blues, country, folk, and rootsy rock and roll, Robert’s music reflects the diverse influences flowing along the Mississippi River. His song “A Million Miles Away” won the Billboard Song Contest, and he received a Music Notes Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to songwriting.

Whether performing solo or with his bands The Moon Gypsies and The Rowdy Prairie Dogs, Robert has shared the stage with renowned artists such as The Beach Boys, Taj Mahal, The Subdudes, and Delbert McClinton, among many others. His solo performances showcase a mix of well-crafted originals and classic favorites, featuring acoustic guitar (with a looper), harmonica, kickboard, and soulful vocals that create a sound all his own.

The Moon Gypsies, a seasoned group including Mary Gaines, Chris Wagoner, and Mauro Magellan, bring a full-bodied, bluesy Americana vibe to their live shows, further solidifying Robert J.’s legacy in the genre.
