Social Media Manager

Teri Barr is the Social Media Manager for the Madison Area Music Association and a seasoned journalist, storyteller, and communications professional with a deep commitment to community engagement. With more than two decades of experience in broadcast journalism, nonprofit communications, and digital media strategy, Teri brings a sharp editorial eye and a warm, authentic voice to MAMA’s online presence.

Teri is a longtime radio and television journalist, known for her work with Civic Media, WISC‑TV, and other Wisconsin news outlets, where she built a reputation for clear, compassionate reporting and a talent for connecting with audiences. Her storytelling has always centered people — their challenges, their creativity, and their contributions to the community — a through‑line that continues to shape her work today.

Beyond journalism, Teri has served in key communications roles for mission‑driven organizations, including the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired, where she helped expand outreach, strengthen messaging, and elevate the voices of individuals and families across the state. Her ability to translate complex information into accessible, engaging content makes her an invaluable partner in MAMA’s efforts to reach families, educators, musicians, and supporters.

At MAMA, Teri manages social media strategy, content creation, and digital storytelling, helping the organization share its mission, celebrate young musicians, and highlight the transformative impact of access to instruments and arts education. Her work ensures that MAMA’s message is not only heard, but felt — with clarity, heart, and a deep sense of community.

Teri lives in Madison, where she continues to champion local stories, support creative communities, and use her voice to uplift the people and organizations making a difference.
