Turn Your Instruments into Opportunities for Young Musicians

Your gently used instruments can change a child’s life! At the Madison Area Music Association, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn music, and with your donation, we can make that possible. Whether it’s a guitar, keyboard, violin, drum set, band instruments or audio equipment, each donation is a stepping stone to a brighter future for our youth.

Why Your Donation Matters

Learning music offers kids so much more than just a new skill – it fosters confidence, teamwork, and creativity.

Your instrument can be the start of a lifelong passion, building resilience and opening doors to exciting opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

We accept a wide variety of instruments, including guitars, keyboards, pianos, violins, drums, brass, woodwinds, turntables, microphones and audio gear. Unsure if your instrument qualifies?  Reach out, and we’ll be happy to help!

We prefer instruments that are playable or need only minor repairs. However, if your instrument requires significant repairs, please contact us to discuss how it might still benefit the program.

Yes!  It is MAMA’s goal to see that every instrument donated goes directly into the hands of kids in our community who want to learn music, but lack access to the instruments and resources they need. We do this through connecting with schools, after-school music education programs, and private teaching studios.

In the event that we can’t find a home for your instrument with a youth musician or youth music program, we may find a home with an adult musician in need; OR we may auction the item at one of our yearly events, with all proceeds going toward MAMA’s mission of supporting youth in music.

Tax Deduction Information

Donating your instrument to MAMA is not just impactful – it’s tax-deductible! After you donate, we’ll provide a donation receipt for your records.

*Please consult with a tax professional to confirm the benefits of your donation.
