2011 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Announced

2011 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Announced

The Madison Area Music Association is proud to announce the winner of this year’s Michael St. John Lifetime Achievement Award winner, the Pro Arte Quartet. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the musical institution that was begun right here in Madison. Three of the four members will be on-hand to accept the award on June 4th at the 8th Annual Madison Area Music Awards being held at the Capitol Theater in the Overture Center. The trio will also perform at the awards ceremony.

MAMAs Receive Anonymous Donation of $28,000 in Instruments

MAMAs Receive Anonymous Donation of $28,000 in Instruments

The MAMA inventory of available instruments (full list is posted on our site) just went up significantly, thanks to an anonymous donation of over $28,000 in instruments and electronic music gear. Requests for instruments can be made by downloading our request form located here.

The MAMAs also accept donations of used instruments so long as they are in good working order.

Some Categories Remain Open for Submission Through the End of Voting

Some Categories Remain Open for Submission Through the End of Voting

Although registration is closed for most categories, submissions are still being taken for certain award categories. The Youth Categories (Youth Vocalist, Youth Instrumentalist, Youth Ensemble, and Youth Original Song) will remain open until May 15th.

A new genre was added this year for faith-based music. Those categories (Faith-Based Song, Faith-Based Performer and Faith-Based Album) also remain open until May 15th.

Those interested should submit as soon as possible to partake in current vote-casting.
